We are doing a day trip but we want to look at a couple places to stay for our next trip. Casa Sirena is adults only I believe. Privilege Aluxes is considered "adults oriented" and is supposed to go adults only in like Jan of however, I think this rule may not apply if they get big wedding parties that want to book a bunch of rooms, but maybe not. IM Palace is adults only. Katy Hochmeyer love her properties!
I'm sure folks will chime in with a few others - these were just the first few that came to my mind. Villa la Bella is another one. Having gone a number of times and stayed at a different place each time I can honestly say that none of the places have been overrun by kids. Also keep in mind that the beaches are public for the most part so no matter where you go your chance of having kids near by is almost as good as if you weren't in a adults only place.
There are a couple exceptions to that of course. Even strolling the streets i've never noticed a lot of 'kids'. Isla Mujeres is a very family friendly place, if you want adults only Villa La Bella or Isla Palace would be your best bets for a hotel on the water. While Privilege Aluxes and Zoetry Villa Rolandi are adult oriented there still may be kids at the pool or on the beach. If you really want absolutely no kids, an adult only resort in Cancun , Playa Riviera or Playa del Carmen would be better choices.
One more idea - you could rent a stand alone home there are many rental homes on the island and then you would not have to worry about it. I will say that although Isla is very family oriented, I don't feel "overpowered" by kids when we go.
We used to only do the Adult AI's for years until we started coming to Isla. My first visit was to Privileges Aluxes, and since then we have rented a house, stayed at Playa Arena and Nautibeach multiple times. We probably encounter the most kids when we stay at Nautibeach, but still never feel like it kid central and we have 6 kids, so we are very interested in our adult time! I think the difference is that at a resort with kids, the kids are all kind of packed into just the resort area.
